Code Two DVD -- Lost film from 1953. Ralph Meeker, Elaine Stewart, Keenan Wynn, Robert Horton. In black and white. [Region Free DVD] |
|
| |
This is the story of three young men - Chuck, (Meeker) Russ (Horton) and Harry (Jeff Richards) who enter the Los Angeles Police Academy as recruits. The first half of the movie depicts their training – first the basic training and then the advanced motorcycle training. Elaine Stewart and Sally Forrest provide the romance and Keenan Wynn does a good job as the police training officer. A very young Chuck Conners also appears in a small part.
The second half of the movie begins with Chuck and Harry on routine patrol. Harry observes a truck running a stop sign and gives chase. While writing a ticket, he becomes suspicious and orders the two men to open the back of the truck. They refuse and murder him instead.
Chuck loses his cocky attitude and becomes committed to finding the killers. He eventually tracks them to their hideout and confronts them. Luckily, he first calls for back up and more cops arrive in time to save the day.
Viewing quality of this hard to find movie is excellent. It is shipped in a plastic case with the artwork as shown.
