The Sweeney was a British TV series that aired for 3 years in the mid '70s. The name was a shortening of "Sweeney Todd" which was a Cockney rhyming slang for "Flying Squad" The Flying Squad is/was an elite branch of Scotland Yard formed specifically to combat armed robbery criminals. They were highly mobile and were assigned the fastest cars and the best drivers available.
This DVD consists of two 50 minute episodes each with noteworty car chases. The first is named "Stoppo Driver" in which the bad guys attempt to intimidate a Sweeney driver into working for them. The second is "Faces" in which the Squad ambushes the crooks.
This series is a cult favorite for fans of police drama around the world. Some viewers may have trouble with some of the slang but don't let that spoil the fun.
Viewing quality of this hard to find film is excellent. It is shipped in a plastic case with the artwork as shown.
