Tony Curtis stars in the title role as a brash young automotive engineer who works for stodgy Fielding Automotive. They make "sensible cars for sensible people." Piper Laurie also stars and provides the romance.
Johnny convinces Fielding to let him build a sports car to race in the big Canada to Mexico Road Race. Most of the movie covers the race which is pretty good. Lots of '50s type sports cars which most will not recognize. The film reminds us of "The Lively Set" which William Alland made 10 years later.
Viewing quality of this hard to find film is excellent - probably the best anyone will find. It is shipped in a slip case with the artwork as shown.
