Cornel Wilde wrote, produced, directed and starred in this almost never seen 1957 film about sports car racing. Jean Wallace, his wife in real life, plays the love interest and Mary Astor is his mother who doesn't think much of him.
Nick Jargin (Wilde) is Nick Jargin, a retired champion driver who's ego knows no bounds. His hard charging style had caused a severe injury to his brother for which he carries much guilt. But he is goaded into one more race where he faces the same challange on a hairpin curve.
Very interesting to see the D Jaguars and other cars of that time period.
This is an early color film and the print quality is not up to today's standards. The color is a bit uneven and the sound track has a little static at times. But collectors of old car racing films will want this film in their collection.
