Grand Prix is a must for any auto racing fan. It is a bit short on plot and story line but the cinematography was state of the art for 1966.
James Garner is a driver for the British BRM team but is fired after a bad crash which injures his team mate Brian Bedford. Eventually, he hires on with the "Yamura" team (Honda) owned by Toshiro Mifune. Jessica Walter is Bedford's wife who has an affair with Garner while Bedford is recuperating. Yves Montand is a champion French driver who hooks up with Eva Marie Saint. Antonio Sabato is very good as a young hot shot driver with a sense of humor. There is racing footage from Monaco, Monza, and England's Brands Hatch. But sadly, the film is a bit tedious for almost three hours.
The the two disk DVD version includes the theatrical trailer and the opening overture. Presented in Wide Screen
