American Nitro DVD Funny Cars with Don Prudomme, Tom McEwen - Rare [Region Free DVD]

Drag racing comes in for a close examination in this nostalgic documentary. Filmed mostly at the Fremont Dragstrip, this exhaustive study of the 1970s "funny car" scene adopts a light hearted tone as it explores its subject. Among those featured are superstar drivers Don ("Snake") Prudhomme and Tom ("Mongoose") McEwen. Includes cameo appearances by Shirley ("ChaCha") Muldowney and an interview with Ed Pink, drag racing's foremost engine builder.

It's Americana in every sense of the word with the inner workings of the sport as much on display as the cars, their drivers, mechanics, and support personnel. Much discussion about the future of the sport in the context of big money sponsors and the gas crisis.

The original producers of this film are reported to be planning a DVD release. In the meantime, contact us if you are having trouble finding it. If it is becomes available elsewhere, we will update this information..
