Here's a nostalgia trip back to Grand Prix racing in the 1950's. Kirk Douglas leads a stellar cast of professionals as the hard charging, take no prisoners, driver trying to elevate himself from his former life as a bus driver. Bella Darvi balances his agression with beauty as well as the cultural dimension of ballet - a risky venture. Excellent photography with footage from Italy's Mille Miglia, the Grand Prix of Monza, Belgium and France. Technical Note: This version is 93 minutes - not the 112 minutes reported as to the original theatrical release. We can only assume it was edited for home video.
This is an almost never seen Wide Screen Letterbox version. Viewing quality is excellent - especially given the age of this film. It is shipped in a plastic case with the artwork as shown.
