This 1978 film is considered by many to be one of Walter Hill's best. From the opening scenes, it moves at breakneck speed. Ryan O'neal stars as the laconic driver who hires himself out to armed robbers as a getaway driver. Bruce Dern is superb as the obsessed but sleezy cop out to get the Driver by any means necessary. Isabel Adjani is the mysterious "Player" whose motives are never really understood.
Some of the best car chase sequences ever filmed make this film one of our favorites. It's intensity grabs you and never lets go.
Viewing quality of this hard to find film is very good. It is shipped in a plastic case with the artwork as shown.
