Legendary actor William Smith makes a rare appearance as the hero (not as the usual low-life biker gang leader) in this great little film about drag racing and funny cars. Set in the Canadian Northwest, it was created by David Cronenberg in an unusual departure from his typical horror film ("Scanners" and "The Brood")
Smith is superstar driver Lonnie "Lucky Man" Johnson who enjoys all the trappings of success - a luxury travel trailer, women, and fan adulation. John Saxon plays Phil, a devious and crooked sponsor representative and former Playmate Claudia Jennings appears in her last role before her tragic death.
Some well done drag racing and car prep footage, including an improbable scene with the funny car barrelling down a city street, makes it a must see for any fan of drag racing.
Viewing quality of this hard to find movie is excellent Presented in Wide Screen It is shipped in a plastic case with the artwork as shown.
